Photo by Eileen Pan on Unsplash Hello 👋 my dear reader, Welcome to my little corner, a space built with words. In this blog, you’ll find a little bit of me, a little bit of you, and a lot about life. Every journey begins with a “why?”. The reason why I opened this blog is to present the works I have produced in the Instructional Technologies and Material Design course. These works will be on different topics. Feel free to leave a comment. Then, let’s grab a coffee and go on a journey from a future teacher’s perspective. 💫 Until our paths cross again - stay inspired. ✮ And if you want to listen, I chose a song for you. ♡ Vienna by Billy Joel   ← click here! Typing or Talking? Voices from the Street

Image
Welcome again my dear reader, Today’s subject is a podcast that I created for my ICT class with my friend, Beyza Tosun. For this task, we created a vox-pop podcast, which focuses on collecting short opinions from different people. We randomly interviewed 15 participants (I would like to thank all the participants.), and asked them the question: “ Do you prefer texting or talking in real life? ”  The aim was to explore communication preferences in everyday life. The responses showed that most people preferred talking in real life because it enhances mutual understanding and communication, especially while talking in daily life. Only 3 people said that texting makes them feel more comfortable and less nervous. I personally prefer face-to-face communication as well, because it feels more sincere and you can convey meaning easily. I think, we revealed that Gen Z still values face-to-face communication for its sincerity and emotional connection, contrary to popular belief, through these...

10 Rules to Rule the Web: Netiquette

Image
Photo by Thomas Lefebvre on Unsplash Welcome again my dear reader,  I would like to present the work I have done for my ICT and metarial design course. For this assignment, I created an infographic. I decided to focus on netiquette, because I think it is a really relevant topic in today's digital world. In my infographic, I focused on the 10 core rules of netiquette and tried to explain them in a simple and clear way using a timeline chart so that anyone can understand them easily.  I used Canva and at the beginning, I thought it would be an easy task because I really like designing and creating something. But it turned out to be a bit more challenging than I expected. The hardest part was deciding how to organize the information. I didn't want it to look too crowded. But at the same time, I didn't want to leave out any important details. Also, choosing elements and the layout took more time than I thought. I wanted it to look clean and visually appealing,  not messy. An...

What kind of learners? - 21st Century Learning

Image
Photo by Greg Bakker on Unsplash Last week, a friend of mine told me about a job interview she had attended for a teacher position. During the interview, she was asked a question: " What kind of learners do you want to raise in the 21st century? " She said that at that moment, she realized that today, being a teacher requires to teaching much more than just grammar and vocabulary.  This question made me think about my own future as a teacher candidate. What does it really mean to teach in the 21st century? It is no longer enough to focus only on grammar and vocabulary. Instead, we need to raise learners who can think critically, communicate effectively, and adapt to a rapidly changing world. 21st century learning focuses on using knowledge, developing skills and building values. We must learn and teach digital literacy, innovative thinking, ethical awareness and more. It is especially significant for language learning because it is an essential issue in many areas of our liv...
